Premier India Football Academy announces the 3rd edition of the PIFA Skills Contest 2007.

The 3rd edition of the PIFA Skills Contest organized by Premier India Football Academy and PIFA Foundation for the benefit of sports will be held on October 21, 2007 at the St Xavier’s Football Ground, Parel, Mumbai.

The event is free and open to children 8-16 years. Participants can download the form from the academy website www.pifacademy.com or collect the same from the MDFA offices at Cooperage Stadium & St Xavier’s, Parel ground after October 7, 2007. Last date of entry is October 17, 2007

In 2006, 368 boys & girls participated in the event. The contest was won by Tejas Raut from Magic Bus with a score of 770 points. The contest record score of 800 points is jointly held by Ajay Kajania & Rolfred Couthino in the 2006 edition.

Participants will be tested in the basic techniques of football - Ball Control, Dribbling, Shooting & Passing. Each test will have a cut off score, failing to pass that mark will result in elimination.

The winners of the contest will be the top two scorers and they will get to attend the PIFA International football camp held in Mumbai during Diwali, they will also get a year long training at the Academy. Dr Francis Saldanha from USA has sponsored the prize.

The PIFA International camps are to be held on 3-6 October 2007 at Karanatak Sports Ground, Churchgate and from 7-10 October 2007 at St Andrews Ground, Bandra. Coaches form Manchester will be conducting the four day program.
